Who are we? Greenhill Amateur Performers is a group of teenagers who meet together to participate in creative arts. Rutherglen Baptist Community Church supervises and hosts this. We meet from 8:00 - 9:30pm on Wednesday nights and attendance costs £1.50 per night. The age range of those who attend is S3 onwards. To be eligble to join, you should preferably have participated in at least two GYT productions. What do we do?
Each year we put on one production. The first term is from February - June and the second is from September - December. Each term we work through various improvisations of our own making before extending one or more for eventual public performance. How do the young people get home?
At 9:30pm the hall shuts for the night. It is the parents/guardians responsibility to make sure their child gets home safely. There are no facilities to supervise the young people after this time. What rules do we have?
We have one ground rule - Respect. The young people must learn to respect the leaders, each other and the building. Please note this is not a "youth club" facility. Young people must stay for the full duration of each night. We require a weekly attendance to work on both skills and the improvisations. This is so good relationships can be built up amongst all those who attend. If the young person is under 16, we require a parental consent form to be signed. Parents In signing the parent consent form, you agree that your child/children will attend all three production nights.
